Newsplus (30th June,2020) :Major General Nigar Johar has become Pakistan’s first female officer to be progressed to the level of lieutenant general, as announced by the military media group.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major Gen Babar Iftikhar in a tweet stated that this officer has also been chosen as the Pakistan’s Army first female surgeon general. She belongs from Panjpeer village, in Swabi district, KPK.

In 2017, the recently promoted Major General Nigar Johar has became the 3rd woman officer in the history of Pakistan’s Army (PA) to achieve the rank of major general.

Nigar Johar is the daughter of Col Qadir, who worked in the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and is the niece of retired Major Muhammad Aamir, prior Pakistan’s Army officer who also served in the ISI. In the past 30 year her both parents died in a car accident.

As claimed by PID this recently promoted lieutenant general is not only a doctor, but also a sharp shooter.

She completed her schooling from Presentation Convent Girls High School, Rawalpindi and graduated from Army Medical College in 1985.

From the university of Health Sciences Lahore in 2015, she received a Masters Degree in public health. She also has an honor of the first women officer who commanded a unit/hospital of the armed forces.
