Later, two bodies were recovered and sent to Chandpur Government General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation in this incident.

Deceased Tahmina Akhter of Dewanji Bari of Dhadda village of Hajiganj. Daughter of Rafiqul Islam. In 2019, the son of Nurul Islam Howladar of Sanna village of the same upazila. Tahmina was socially married to Masuduzzaman Howlader. Recently, they separated due to various family issues. The name of the child who died with Tahmina is Abdur Rahman. Tahmina has another five-year-old daughter, Muntaha.

According to local sources, Tahmina made a post on her Facebook timeline before jumping under the train around 2:30 today. In the post, he claimed no one was responsible for her death and requested to look after her daughter. Earlier on March 28, Tahmina filed a written complaint against her husband and his relatives at Hajiganj police station.

According to the written complaint, Tahmina was staying at her father’s house as she was not taken to her husband’s house after marriage. Later, the husband borrowed five lakh taka from his father and sent Masuduzzaman to Kuwait. Tahmina gets into an argument on the phone about family matters while her husband is abroad. Then her husband asked her to leave her father’s house and live elsewhere. According to her husband, she rented a house in Mokibad Chowdhurypara area of Hajiganj and started living with her two children. Then the husband and in-laws insulted him on the phone and the husband refused to pay maintenance. At one stage, while in exile, Tahmina got separated from her husband.

According to sources, Tahmina filed a written complaint at Hajiganj police station on March 28 after the separation. Meanwhile, Tahmina’s ex-husband Masuduzzaman Howladar returned to the country on April 18. He threatens to kill Tahmina over the phone to withdraw the complaint and asks her to go back to her husband’s house. Otherwise, he threatened to spread the pictures of private moments of the husband and wife on social media.

Accused Masuduzzaman Howlader was on the run on his way back from exile due to a complaint at the police station. A call to his mobile number regarding the complaint was found to be closed.

However, one of Masuduzzaman’s brothers told Prothom Alo on condition of anonymity that they have not had any contact with his brother and his family for five years. They found out that the brother had sent money from abroad at least 76 times for his wife and children. He built a house for his wife in the in-laws’ house. I don’t know the details because I have no contact with them. The accusation of slander against them is not correct.

Deputy Inspector (SI) Abdur Rahman told Prothom Alo about Tahmina’s complaint that an attempt was made to sit with the accused Masuduzzaman’s family along with members of the Union Parishad to resolve the matter. But they did not agree. A week ago the person came to the country. But instead of staying at home, he ran away to different places. Later came to know that the person has gone abroad again.
